Even more choice in special Fasson® materials for wine labelling

Avery Dennison has once again strengthened its portfolio of self-adhesive wine labelling materials with a new, dedicated general-purpose wine labelling adhesive, Fasson® S2030, and new paper-based facestocks fully-approved for use on the HP Indigo WS4050 and WS4500 series digital presses.

Fasson S2030 is an emulsion-based permanent adhesive allowing high conversion and dispensing speeds, coupled with the good mandrel performance required for bottles.

All-round performance
For the end user, Fasson S2030 offers a broad range of performance characteristics which, says Avery Dennison, makes it an everyday choice for many wine labelling applications. In trials, four hours immersion in an ice chest created no visual defects in the adhesive layer, such as bubbling, and the label could not be removed. Conversely, labels can be easily removed after just three minutes at 23°C. The adhesive complements the Fasson S2047 hot melt wine labelling adhesive and, where 'wash off' is not required, can provide an economical alternative to the high-performance Fasson WLA.

HP Indigo-certified facestocks
Fasson S2030 is partnering four facematerials fully certified by HP Indigo for use with ElectroInk on their reel-to-reel WS4050 and WS4500 series presses. Reel-to-reel digital print is an increasingly popular choice for wine labels, as short print runs can be achieved economically without any compromise on visual aesthetics.

Fasson Digit Ind HG Wine TOP is a premium 80gm² cast-coated white, mirror-finished, wet-strength paper with enhanced blue-white optical characteristics. It is opaque and smooth, and retains its good looks in the ice bucket.

Fasson Digit Ind Centaure Blanc TOP is a 90gm2 matt white woodfree printing paper, treated for wet strength and mould inhibition, which offers a pleasing open and textured finish for traditional and modern wine labels.
Fasson Digit Ind Cream Antique TOP is a 90gm2 cream uncoated woodfree printing paper, treated for wet strength and mould inhibition, with a traditional laid finish.

Completing the list is Fasson Digit Ind MP Gold TOP -- an 83gm2 bright gold metallised printing paper for high-visibility labels.
