Avery Dennison introduces new products to enable customers to meet growing environmental demand

Avery Dennison delivers FSC and PEFC certified Fasson brand labelstock to customers

Avery Dennison announced the introduction of its Forest Steward Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certified Fasson brand labelstock. The Fasson Vellum Extra FSC and MC Primecoat PEFC certified products are guaranteed to have been produced in a sustainable fashion and will enable Avery Dennison’s customers to meet the growing demand for environmentally and socially responsible products.

The Fasson Vellum Extra FSC and MC Primecoat PEFC certifications are an assurance that Avery Dennison is using paper made from wood sourced directly from responsibly-managed forests. These sustainability certifications reflect Avery Dennison’s commitment to achieving sustainable business success through responsible economic, social and environmental practices that help build healthy communities around the world.

“Avery Dennison is at the forefront of the European market with the production of labelstock from certified sustainable sources” said Don Stoebe, Vice President and General Manager for Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe. “Our customers are increasingly looking for ways to meet the demand for more ecologically-friendly products. With our new certified sustainable Fasson labelstock, we are providing our customers with a high quality product that will enable them to make their business more sustainable and help them to attract customers and achieve growth.”

Avery Dennison’s commitment to sustainable business goes deeper than its new sustainable products, as Don Stoebe explains. “Avery Dennison is always looking at how we can make our business more efficient – and therefore more sustainable,” he said. “For example, since the beginning of 2006, we have reduced water consumption at our Champ-Sur-Drac facility in France by 80%. We have two plants in Europe – Schwelm and Gotha in Germany – that meet the highest environmental standards; both now have ISO 14001 certification. The Schwelm facility presently recycles 97.4% of all its waste.”

“We are constantly trying to find new ways to reduce, reuse or eliminate waste,” he added. “Our Fasson Exact program – which enables our customers to order products at the exact length and width required – is leading to the efficient use of materials, minimizing waste and maximizing value to our customers. Sustainable business is efficient business – and that is good both for our customers and our environment.”

The Fasson Vellum Extra FSC and MC Primecoat PEFC are available from Avery Dennison’s Luxembourg facility.
