Smarteq delivers antennas to Helsinki Energy – installation of smart meters in Finland in progress
Smarteq delivers the first antennas for the installation of ”the new-generation utility meters” for wireless transfer of data in Helsinki, Finland. 120 000 smart utility meters will be installed during the first phase which will be completed in 2010.
The project is managed by Helsinki Energy, a part of the utility corporation Helen Sähköverkko Oy, responsible for distribution of electricity in Helsinki. Meters are supplied by the Finnish company Aidon Oy.
Following the first phase, approximately half of all electricity meters in the Helsinki region will be upgraded for remote reading.
”Our goal is to offer our customers, the utility companies, technical solutions that increase customer service, rationalize work-processes, and increase the efficiency of management of the meters”, says Petteri Heinänen, Director of Marketing at Aidon Oy.
”This is a breakthrough for Smarteq as we now seriously enter the Finnish market. Again, we gain recognition for providing antennas and know-how of the highest quality on the international market”, says Lars Ericson, CEO at Smarteq.
