Lambrechts in Belgium implements WMS from Consafe Logistics

Lambrechts, a leading Belgian distributor of various sanitary and heating ware, has decided to implement Astro WMS system to better manage warehouse processes in the warehouse in Genk.

The warehouse has a surface of 12,000 square meteres, where many different products are stored (sanitary ware, taps, kitchen sinks, radiators, boilers, saunas etc.) Currently there are about 9,900 different stock-items sold. Lambrechts has got in their offer about 120,000 active items in total.

As the company is growing very quickly the needs for effective warehouse management is still increasing. With help of Astro WMS Lambrechts expects to have more work done with the same number of staff and with even better accuracy and efficiency. In the warehouse in Genk the main processes that need to be improved are:

Picking
Consolidation of orders
Goods receiving
Put aside of goods
Cycle counting

The implementation is done by partnership of ICASA Consulting from Belgium, where IT-staff is available that have knowledge of our ERP environment. And last but not least important are good feelings during the preceding negotiations. We feel we can trust people from Consafe Logistics as they do have experience in this kind of business."

The system is planned to go live at 1st of January 2008. Lambrechts is also considering a further step and investing in the voice-picking solutions in the nearby future.
